Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Race for the STARS! Volunteers are crucial to the success of our event and students receive community hours.

If you are interested in volunteering for the event and helping us raise money for San Juan Unified schools, please complete the form below or contact us for more information.

Please review the available volunteer jobs below, select your top three choices, and complete and submit the Volunteer Registration Form no later than Sunday, March 31, 2019.

Packet Pick-up

Hand out race packets and T-shirts.

 

Set-up

5:30 a.m. – 8 a.m. on race day, April 7, 2019

Set up tables using vendor map, Set up race signs, pop ups, AV, packet pickup area with t-shirts, etc., prepare food area

 

Parking monitor/vendor assistant

6:45 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. on race day, April 7, 2019

Show vendors where to park, direct them to their assigned spots, provide vendor maps


Water station

7:15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m   on race day, April 7, 2019

Set-up, hand out water and clean up water station

 

Registration

6:45 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. on race day, April 7, 2019

Pass out race packets to runners, help same day runners sign up


Food prep

7:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. on race day, April 7, 2019

Set out food and water for runners. Need 2-3 volunteers to monitor tables (refresh food, etc.).

 

Course monitor

Kids play area

3 shifts available:

T-shirt distribution

6:45 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. on race day, April 7, 21019

Distribute t-shirts to all race participants as they check in at registration.

 

Kids race finish line

7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on race day, April 7, 21019

Prepare kids medals (unbox) before kids races. Hand out medals as kids cross finish line. Also hand out awards to top boy and girl finishers for both ¼ mile and ½ mile races.

 

Awards

8:45 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on race day, April 7, 21019

Unpack and set up awards on table (on the track). Monitor awards area until ceremony. Help MC hand out awards after race.

 

Clean-up/breakdown

10 a.m. - noon on race day, April 7, 21019

Clean up vendor area, put away tables and chairs, pack up leftover t-shirts and supplies and load supply vehicles, take out trash
